Burgers of the Brain

I'm finally craving food again. For about the first three days after my lap I had no appetite. It was just chicken broth, jello, sourdough toast, and 7-up. The pain meds messed with my stomach, and unfortunately those were the only food items that sounded edible. But now my appetite is back with a vengence, and I've been craving burgers... could it be my body craving protein and fat that I've been deprived of? The other day I took my mom to lunch at Chicago for Ribs and had their gigantor chili burger and fries. But that didn't satisfy my burger cravings...so,  I convinced dh to take me to the new Five Guys Burgers that opened nearby. I must say, that is one tasty burger! I got the little burger (still pretty big!) with mustard, grilled onions, pickles, tomatoes, and a side of Cajun fries. Today, I want an In-N-Out Animal Style burger... I don't think dh will go for it, so I may be on my own for lunch.

Enough about food. So, I feel like I've pretty much recovered from my lap. I still have a little sensitivity at my incisions, and the glue in my belly button is annoying. My Ob said it was ok to peel the glue off, but the glue in my belly is not coming off easily, so I think I'm going to wait a few more days.  I don't want to push it, but I miss being active. My plan is to start walking by the end of this week, and hopefully I'll feel up to exercising the following week. Dh and I walked to Starbuck's yesterday - about 1/2 a mile. I felt pretty good until the way home; I had to slow down my lower incision was sore in the hip-flexor area as I walked. But it was all worth it for my non-fat peppermint mocha.

I hope to get an appointment with the RE this week to figure out what the next step is - IUI or IVF. Dh wants to wait until we get our new insurance cards to make sure our RE takes my insurance. I really hope he does because I don't want to have to change REs again.
