18 week update

Anatomy Scan

Yesterday was the big anatomy scan. Since we had 2 different OBs and an u/s tech "guess" the sexes already, it wasn't too big of a shocker when they confirmed that baby A is a boy, and babies B & C are girls. Although we already knew the sexes, it was a pretty amazing look at our little ones. I can believe how much they've grown since our last appointment 3 weeks ago. All 3 babies are weighing in at a hefty 9 ounces! Unfortunately our peri had a delivery and was only there for a brief check, but the u/s tech took all the measurements and gave us some great photos. She was actually able to get an u/s photo with all 3 babies which we haven't had since one of our first appointment.

While our peri was there I had a feeling of lightheadedness and felt like I was going to pass out. I got super hot and thirsty, as I started pushing my hair back he noticed my discomfort and told me to turn on my side. He said it was very common to feel this way since there is so much extra pressure on my organs (the reason pregnant women are not supposed to sleep on their backs). The u/s tech got me some water and put a wet washcloth on my forehead, and I started feeling much better. From my side position my peri looked at the babies briefly and even took some 4D images of the babies. My dh said he would scan them for me this weekend so I can put them on my blog, so hopefull I'll be able to add those next week - they're very cool!

Although our peri had to leave to the OR, he did say that from what he saw everything looked good. I'm asuming he will go over the measurements and progress at our next appointment. At least I only have to wait 2 weeks until our next appointment. After 20 weeks, he said he wants to start seeing me every week. Even though he is a little farther away, I am more that happy to have weekly appointments to keep an eye on my little ones and my cervix.

18 Weeks Stats:

Weight: 144 (I've gained 25 lbs already!)
Waist/belly: 37 inches
Blood Pressure: 102/60
Cravings: Fruit - I'm loving summer fruits! I also have an insatiable thirst. I've been drinking a lot of limeade, tangerine juice and water.
