Back in December I posted how tired I was of of ttc, and that I wished a baby would just appear under our Christmas tree... well, although I know it won't be that easy, we're expecting #1 this December!!! EDD is Dec. 5th.
POAS
I started spotting last weekend, and with the blood also came the tears. I wanted to wait until the night before my beta to test, but with all the spotting I ended up tested a bit early. Dh felt bad and suggested I POAS to ease my mind. So, while Dh was working in the yard, I went upstairs to find one of the many hpts we had purchased. I don't know if the spotting was from a late implanter or what, but I saw a second line for the 1st time in my 3 years of ttc.
I brought the hpt out in the yard to show dh while I was still crying. The look on his face was one of uncertainty, but as soon as he saw the stick, he said, "we're pregnant!" He said he never doubted it, but I sure did... and because dh in an engineer, he suggested we get multiple tests to ensure there were no "test errors"...
At 11dp3dt, all 3 tests came back positive. I could have POAS all day, just to see those 2 beautiful lines (...or "yes" or "pregnant").
Beta #1 - 12dp3dt
When I went in for beta #1 the nurse asked if I had any news. I admitted to POAS, and she said, "Everyone is cheating this cycle!" So, I guess I'm not the only one who succumbed to the power of the stick. I knew I wasn't going to get the call until late in the afternoon, so I ran a lot of errands to keep me busy. I decide to go to dh's T-ball game (he's a coach) so we could be together when I got the results. Although he was on the field at the time, I was able to text him the results. I texted him "482", I was so excited when the nurse told me it was a strong beta, that I heard her incorrectly... our 1st beta was actually 459. Not much of a difference really, but I made sure to write them down when I got my 2nd beta, not to make the same mistake twice.
Beta #2 - 14dp3dt
After beta # 2 I went to breakfast with my good friend and tried not to dwell on the pending results too much. It's seems like so many other people/clinics get there betas back quickly, but I didn't get the call until around 5pm. It took a lot of restraint not to pick up the phone and call the office (because I know they get the results early in the afternoon) Well, it was worth the wait; beta # 2 came back at 1462! The nurse said that since it doubled, I don't need to go in for a 3rd beta. My first u/s will be on April 13th at 4pm. April 13th is also my moms 80th birthday; I'd love to be able to share some good news with her on her big 8-0!
